Varthon had decided to ride into Droga, having heard of Magestica's untimely fall. Though he did not have the good fortune to get to know her, he had heard of her deeds. He sat near her lifeless body, knowing that her soul had travelled far beyond the bounds of time, not even the most powerful cleric in Norrath could bring her back now. Varthon looked among the goblin corpses,
he then decided that to show his respect for such an unequalled warrior of Tunare, a monument must be erected. He began to skin the bodies, discarding all but skin and bone. Carefully he built a monument out of the bones of goblins, how ironic that the bones of the very beasts that murdered
the great Magestica would be used in this way. When the structure was complete, Varthon carefully attached the dried skins to the tower. He looked at it carefully, his mind in deep thought as to the words best to use. And then, he reached behind his back and unsheathed his sword, and ran the blade across his palm, took a quill from his pouch and on the front of the monument he wrote:
You stand upon the ground on which
Magestica, Paladin of Tunare,
made her last stand. Her courage and bravery
were rivaled by none.
May her soul rest peacefully
once it has reached the destination it seeks.
