The Charter of the Walkers of Vazaelle

Post by Whizbang Dustyboots » Wed Aug 22, 2001 5:00 pm

Guild founded February 24, 2001

1 – The Walkers as a guild prize the quality of a person more than their prowess on the battlefield.

2 – Walkers are honest, fair and considerate, both in their dealings with each other and with outsiders. Being a Walker means you have inherited a good reputation, one that will open doors for you throughout Norrath, Luclin and the Planes of Power. Keep the guild's name at least as good as it was when you received it.

3 – You are your own person. You are never required to attend a guild raid, meeting or election. You are never required to offer another Walker assistance, whether it is in the form of coinage, equipment, military aid, healing spells, curing spells, resurrections or teleports. However, you will normally find these freely offered to you and your willingness to do the same is appreciated. Likewise, the guild is strongest when we stand together; attendance at meetings and elections is greatly appreciated.

4 - Active members are defined as having played in EQ within the past six weeks. Walkers recognizes real life and other considerations sometimes prevent more active play, but voting decisions ultimately must be decided upon by those playing on a semi-regular basis.
- All active members are equal, and have an equal vote in decisions, with a simple majority (one half of all active members plus one) deciding all issues, unless stated otherwise. (Any policy or election vote that takes longer than a week will be decided by half of all those voting, plus one instead.)
- A member will be considered inactive after six weeks of having not played in EQ.
- An inactive member will be considered retired from EQ after 6 months of having not played unless they have informed an Officer in Walkers otherwise.
- When a member of Walkers becomes retired, an officer will then place the phrase "Retired" in the comments section of the guild tool for the Main Character. The Officer will then remove all of this players Alts from the in game Walkers Guild. If/when the member returns, the "Retired" comment will be removed by an Officer and thier Alts may be reguilded

5 – New members must be nominated by three current guild members who vouch that they know the prospective member and have grouped with them. See the Membership Policy for details.

6 – The leader of the Walkers is elected by a simple majority of the membership once every three months, on the first weekend of March, June, September and December. The leader can also be voted out at any time if 50 percent of the total membership votes to do so.

7 – Officership in the Walkers is given in recognition of a leadership role the member has already taken on. Officers are nominated by the leader, but candidates must then be approved by a majority vote of the membership.

8 – Walkers have an absolute right to personal privacy – if you know something personal about another member, keep it to yourself.

9 – We are presently allied with the Coldain Dwarves of Velious and the dragons known as the Claws of Veeshan, although individual members are free to pursue their own aims, provided they realize that the guild's focus is still in this direction and will be until such time as the guild votes otherwise.
